The soul of a generation From Amazon This is more than just a new book. This is the beginning of an adventure -- perhaps an era. Melissa Jacobs shows pure brilliance in capturing the bliss and agnst of a generation that's grown up worshiping free will and expensive shoes. Her style is pretty and witty and wise, with tremendous attention to character detail and development. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wish the book had even more sex. Those of you who know me know that I read incredibly slowly these days. I really had a problem with the immaturity of this character from start to finish.

I didn't see any true growth from her, even if she was finally able to make a few decisions without the advice of her Council of Girlfriends. It was really pretty naive and almost offensive to read about her one dimensional view of Motherhood and working Moms. Is this how single people or those without children really view us?

Because I will tell you that Moms, working or otherwise, have the best work ethic and are able to multi-task more efficiently than anyone else on the planet. I was really hoping Lexi James would get pregnant during the course of this book and learn a lesson about parenting. It would have added a lot more depth to the character and also sent a stronger message about independent women.

Feb 21, Madelin Gonzales rated it really liked it. I thought the characters in this novel were very detailed like how Jonie was very optimistic about everything in every aspect. The best part of the book was when Lexi was introducing her whole group to the their daily routine of being in association. My least favorite part was when Lexi was being basically harassed by one of her fellow group members and she did not do anything about it.

I would recommend this to a person who enjoys gossip without the drama that comes along with it. I could relate to their need to vent their difficulties with their lovers and to get it off of their chests. Overall, I though this book was good, it just needed to more relatable topics for me personally for it to get 5 stars. Feb 24, Laura rated it really liked it Shelves: chicklit , march , I really dug this book. I have no idea why the overall rating of this is so low. And the low raters never really said why.
It is and it's not standard formula chick lit. I like the focus on the COG and the realistic assessment of the relationships. There were ups and downs. It's not all rosy. But the underlying friendships remain.
But I suppose like real life, sometimes you don't have to have a big I really dug this book. But I suppose like real life, sometimes you don't have to have a big discussion, you just move on. I also really liked the elder COG, and I liked that Lexi recognized the wisdom they had to offer, and the realistic and practicle take on things that comes with that wisdom. All in all, it was a good read Apr 13, Megan rated it it was amazing. I really loved it. All the girls had so different lives and i got really engrossed in their lives like i was one of them.
I think they made all the right choices for themselves but now i want to know what happens next. I did notice one grammar mistake. Lexxi was talking about her new assistant and she said "im always working when we walks in". May 22, Karla rated it liked it.
First of all it's a chick-lit. It was ok for me to read this book, more like refreshing and okay. Did I use okay aleady?
Hee hee. But still I kinda like the story of Lola's to expand but the end have failed my craving for that part of the story but so far it's cute because it shows how awesome and wonderful it is to have friends who cares and loves you. I love how Lexi manages to turn over her life and career choices on her own terms, turning back to what she what she loves to do and what she's good at, despite her friends and family's doubts.
